Uribe Acorralado, a True Crime series by Daniel Coronell.
More than 200 cases had been linked with former President Álvaro Uribe in Colombia. This is the story of the only case that led to his arrest and how Daniel Coronell’s reporting added truth to the case and helped the court to move forward with the case. This is an audio diary narrated in 12 episodes that was the most listened-to podcast of Spotify Colombia in 2021. Produced by Adonde Media for Spotify Studios.
Laura Ubaté was the lead producer.
For the scriptwriting, Laura synthesized Daniel Coronell's numerous columns into three narrative lines that intersect and complement each other throughout the episodes: the public life of the case, the private life of the case, and Coronell's life as a reporter. "The most difficult part of the process was condensing Daniel Coronell's stories into small episodes of less than 10 minutes," said Laura in an interview "Daniel is a master of the art and an excellent storyteller, it was hard work as a team where I had the editorial support of David Alandete, Laura Gil and Martina Castro".
"Uribe Acorralado" influenced public opinion in Colombia during a time of presidential elections. Some Uribe supporters tried to censor the promotion of this podcast on social media but failed. Daniel Coronell keeps reporting about it.
